Raindrops on reposes and whiskers on black cats

It’s been a challenging run up to Halloween for all our generous, creative display hosts here in Wisconsin.

While all that rain and mist creates a nice spooky atmosphere, it also threatens to short out those cool electric displays and it can keep the crowds away.

Hopefully we Wisconsinites can, once again, laugh in the face of bad weather mwah ha ha ha and head out to enjoy the fun.

So many amazing yards are waiting for you! Haul on your rain gear and treat yourselves between now and the big day on Tuesday!

For sure you should find your way to 115 Louise Street in Kimberly.

This legendary house hosts a Halloween extravaganza that begins in the front yard and extends through the garage, and around the backyard.

Beware! Because some of these characters can sneak up on you when you least expect it.

You could go through these rooms multiple times and find something new at every turn.

It really is amazing.

Also, if you’re interested in some indoor Halloween shenanigans, check out the Appleton North Haunted House that runs today and tomorrow from 1 to 4 and from 6 to 10. It’s always a creatively creepy good time.

I stopped by in the daytime and headed the warnings.
Lots of friends beckoned me in.
And a few seemed poised for flight.
It’s a good idea to take a peek in the daylight to get your bearings.
Because the nighttime view is a whole new crazy experience.
Pirate skeletons…
An electric mummy. All of these displays are interactive.
An explosion of creepy dolls.
A pirate poker game.
A pumpkin room.
Of course there are clowns.
And a whole creepy deep sea fantasy.
