The sun dances merrily in an October sky
Giddy with pride at what it has wrought.
This is the season of love,
Harvest time and the trees rejoice
Swirling ruby red crinolines,
tucking golden pocket squares into puffed chests
and straightening tangerine ties.
Sing then the glories of God’s magic paintbrush
And the splendid light it spreads
over fields, rivers, vines, orchards, lakes, forests
And you!
Stomp the sun-swollen grape.
Bask in this golden hour.
Store this bounty of music, laughter and joy.
And let it warm your heart forever.
My favorite season. It could stay fall year round and I’d be happy!
