Vinnie scores a Take-Five pie (a post by Molly)

One score and three days ago, a small baby boy was born. Yesterday we celebrated birthdays for my brother Vinnie, who turned 20, and my Grandpa John, who turned 83. For the second time, my brother issued a pie challenge; to make a pie we’ve never had before. Challenge Accepted! This year we rang in my brother’s birthday with a Take-Five pie.

For those of you not familiar with the Take-Five candy bar (I pity you), the Take-Five candy bar has caramel, peanut butter, pretzel and peanuts all coated in chocolate. As my mother would say, it’s the best candy bar ever invented. Yesterday I decided to create a pie as an ode to this wonderful candy bar (and my brother… he’s pretty cool too).  With a pretzel crust, chocolate peanut butter filling, and caramel drizzle, this pie earned a spot on the Molly B and Me most decadent pie list. The perfect way to celebrate my brother becoming an age with a name.

Now that my brother has become a score, I’ve decided that my next aspiration in life should be to become an age with a name. An Indiction is fifteen years, so I’ll be waiting eight month and eleven days until my age has a name. Ah well…

But I digress, really this post isn’t about me (although I am pretty interesting), it’s about my brother Vinnie and a pie that embodies his awesomeness. And Vinnie’s coolness will last much longer than the pie… which will be gone by tomorrow.
