The more we get together the happier we’ll be

Miss Rachel scored our mornings this June, along with the Wiggles.

We moved in a haze of happy chaos, with shoes piled up by the door and extra beds in the living room.

We made new friends, tried new foods, planned new adventures and stored lots of new memories.

What a great little run!

Though our family members are scattered from coast to coast, we dearly love to hang.

Miss Rachel, the Wiggles (vintage and reboot) and Raffi have it right.

The more we get together, the happier we’ll be.

Ours hearts and our recycling bins are full.

The former will stay that way for a long, long time. The later went to the curb yesterday morning.

We stored a lot of laughter in the walls of a house already crowded with it.

In the aftermath of our extended reunion, during the quiet moments that followed airports runs, we’re feeling especially thankful for the time we shared.

Gratitude grows right along with family. Our stretchy old hearts fill and expand in joyful cadence. We just have to keep them open.

How lucky we humans are that we get to expand our families in such lovely ways!

Though this June has flown by in a blur, it will stand as one of my favorite months because we got to welcome a new son in-law and spend so much time with the people we love.

I hope your June has been full of joy as well.

She’s a spunky little peanut and we enjoyed every minute we got to spend with her.
Margo got to bang the gavel at her Grandpa’s work.
Which she did with enthusiasm.
The restaurant we visited one night was swamped, so Vinnie and Danni asked the owner if he would like them to take our order. “I could kiss you right now,” he said. We had the best service!
Molly made a new friend.
Margo worked on throwing a perfect spiral. (She’s got an impressive little arm!)
We enjoyed some great campfire time.
Dr. Margo listened to Katherine’s heart. It’s good and strong and kind.
We’re huge fans of Memorial Park in Shawano.
I had lots of workout pals.
Including Margo
And Benny.
It’s a little quieter now. We just have Benny left in the house. But, like him, we’re basking in our sun spots and in the glow of happy memories.

  1. Smith and I sat warmly wrapped and napping right next to that firepit and jounced around a bit to the great polka music at the wedding. I imagined what it would look like alight and glowing on a summer evening with family and friends sitting around it…
    Just like THIS!

    1. I would love for you to come back for a more relaxing visit sometime. Maybe we could all sit around the fire pit when it is lit.
I really love that you guys came to our little corner of the world. Thank you!
