I hope the magic of summer in Wisconsin lures my granddaughters back again and again.
I want the slow drift of campfire smoke to tickle their memory, and the sticky taste of S’mores to linger long after the last log burns.
I’d like the little red train that chugged us through Bay Beach to show up every now and then in their dreams.
And, maybe the smell of chlorine and sunblock will travel back with our oldest little peanut, and she’ll smile when she thinks about our afternoon at the Erb Park pool.
I hope her little belly remembers the cheese curds, frozen custard, fresh picked blackberries and stuffed chicken wings.
I hope their rocking chairs back home mimic the rolling river that snakes through our property Up North.
We had a spectacular time with our family these past two weeks in Wisconsin. Our big, beautiful state showed up with gorgeous sunsets, fat butterflies, a majestic bald eagle, street music, farmer’s markets, gentle cows, and the friendliest people you’ll ever meet.
What a whirlwind of laughter and love!
I may have taken a photo or two …
