A cross country Turkey Trot for a sweetie pie

Molly and I sported our game day colors yesterday as we flew through Detroit on a somewhat spontaneous Thanksgiving adventure.

Having never flown on Thanksgiving Day, we were both shocked by how smoothly our trip to New Jersey went.

Our biggest struggle turned out to be the spotty WiFi on both our flights, which made it challenging to watch our beloved Packers.

Molly likened my futile efforts to stream the game midair to Charlie Brown’s attempts to kick the football.

“You should just give up,” she whispered.

“I will,” I said, but my hands had a life of their own and they just kept refreshing pages.

We watched the bulk of the game on our layover in Detroit and heard a satisfying amount of “Go Pack Gos” from fellow fans there.

Packer fans travel well.

We were so thrilled when we touched down in Newark and saw the final score.

Go Pack Go!

But the real trophy for us was the little Thanksgiving sweetie pie waiting for us in a house full of food and good people.

We get to spend the whole weekend with our little Margo, which is quite a treat.

We hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Our flight yesterday was one of only two departing flights out of the Appleton airport. We practically had the whole place to ourselves.
And we were proud to sport our Packer game day gear during our layover in Detroit.
We were thrilled about the Packer win, but the real trophy for us was our little New Jersey bagel and all of the good food and kind people around this table.
It’s going to be a great weekend!
