Like Joni Mitchell, I’ve been looking at life from both sides lately.
I’m grateful for the perspective.
With my family scattered from coast-to coast I have spent a lot of time in the air this month making my visits. I’m leaving again today.
I’m also grateful for the opportunity to fly.
A few weeks ago we took off in a snowstorm, rose above the clouds, and caught a completely different, sunny view.
It’s astonishing how different the world can look from the exact same window.
I’ve been thinking about that a lot.
I’m taking my news in sips these days because it’s hard to digest. I’m also trying to read a story from multiple sources, both here and abroad.
The turbulence seems overwhelming sometimes.
And the view from above the big, beautiful world can be humbling, because we’re just tiny, fallible humans out here trying to do our best on a big, beautiful, fragile planet.
But it’s also inspiring.
We can fly, man.
Let’s go!
