The littlest bird

Our littlest bird rolled into town on a wave of toddler-generated sunshine that leaves everyone grinning in its wake.

Our granddaughter Margo was SO EXCITED to take her seat in an airplane and her parents were SO DISAPPOINTED when they had to sit on the tarmac for 90 minutes due to mechanical issues.

Then, she was SO EXCITED to land at O’Hare and her parents were SO DISAPPOINTED when their connecting flight was delayed for more than four and a half hours.

Still, when we picked her up after her very long day, she was SO EXCITED to see us! And we were SO VERY EXCITED to see them all as well.

So far, our visit has been a whirlwind of joy because Margo’s enthusiasm for life is so contagious.

We jump, we dance, we recruit scads of people to join our Ring Around the Rosie gang.

Yesterday, we poked our heads into the children’s museum and stayed for 2 1/2 hours.

We’ve already had an epic week and it’s only Wednesday.

We have more family members coming to town today and even more tomorrow.

And we’re SO EXCITED because we have lots to celebrate with all of them then.

Our littlest bird is growing and so is our family in all kinds of wonderful ways.

We’re so very grateful for this time together.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

It’s going to be a great year!

Our little New Jersey bagel was so excited for her trip to Wisconsin.
How cute is this toy plane? By the end of the day, Margo had had enough of planes.
But she was SO EXCITED to see us all!
She enjoyed some good cuddles with Grandma Peggy.
Played some tunes.
Had a working lunch.
And, oh my gosh, did we enjoy the Building for Kids.
We painted, drew, drove a fire truck, picked apples, harvested eggs, shoveled coal, rode a slide, played a bunch of drums, shot some boats down a water chute.
What can I tell you? She insisted I join her for a quick trip to the bank drive-thru and, of course, I jumped on in.
And we took very good care of our patient.
