Me and my shadow

I introduced my granddaughter to her shadow this week and they made a delightful pair.

They stomped a little, just to show who was boss. Then they waved to each other, having achieved a happy detente.

And then they danced,

We clapped along, my shadow and I, a lucky, veteran audience of two.

Later, other shadow people joined us – Margo’s Daddy and her Mommy and her Aunt Katherine.

What a gift those shadows are (and the people who make them)!

You know the sun has your back when you spot your shadow, and you each wink a little in a silent acknowledgement of all the fun the day will bring.

We’re going to write a little thank you note to Wisconsin for the lovely weather it sent our way this week, perfect for shadows and the tiny people who make them.

Margo and I snuck out one morning and discovered our shadows. We enjoyed their company so much we popped out every morning to say hello.
Our shadows had a great week together. How cute is this shot of Katherine and Margo?
Margo’s Daddy joined our shadow party.
I accidentally took a video when I thought I was taking a picture of Margo, Katherine and my shadows.
My shadow! My very own shadow!
And then they danced.
I got to hang out with the cutest shadow in all the land. (PC: Margo’s mom).
