Cousin Benny’s in the house

Cousin Benny has had his hands full this Christmas keeping an intense eye on every single member of our holiday-filled house.

He’s here in the living room monitoring the couch sitters (and waiting patiently for permission to climb aboard for a snuggle).

He’s there on the kitchen floor, staring up at the nibblers and hoping for morsel or two.

He’s at the front door, down the hallway, circling through the family room and back to the living room.

“Ya ok?” He pants. “You still there? Do you need anything? You want a hug?”

This year Benny has a new little pal, our granddaughter Margo. We have all been touched by the sweet relationship between the hyper-aware rescue dog who worries about everything and the tiny toddler who has spent her whole life wrapped in a cocoon of multi-generational adoration.

She thinks he’s hilarious and he thinks she takes way too many risks.

At first, Margo loved Benny from afar and panicked a little when he got too close. He waited her out. She inched nearer. He watched closely. Benny is a good boy. He staked a spot next to her. She reached her little hand out. He scooted a little closer, nudged under that hand and a friendship was born.

They get several more days together before they head to their respective coasts and we’re going to enjoy every minute.

We hope you’re enjoying sweet moments with your holiday people as well.

Benny and Margo are two of our sweetest family members and we’re so excited they’re home for the holidays.
Margo has lots of adorable companions keeping an eye on her right now and our house is full of entertainment.
How cute is this little penguin?
And how cute is this little snuggle bunny with the poor, chewed ear.
Together, they’ve entertained us for hours.
We hope you found some sweet moments of joy during this holiday season.
