Happy anniversary from 1,400 miles away

My husband Vince and I celebrated our 39th anniversary while we were 1,400 miles apart.

He toasted the occasion with a crisp bottle of Sun Drop, I with my mother’s chardonnay.

Sometimes, that’s the way we roll.

Still, we’re grateful for the years we’ve spent together and the big ole family we’ve raised.

It’s been a wild ride for two kids who met in the basement of Johnston Hall.

We’ve traveled to some cool places, worked some interesting jobs, owned some questionable vehicles, eaten some delicious food, played some fun sports and held some precious babies.

Last week, we hung out in a Missouri water park with three very energetic little boys. Vince drove 19 hours round trip for that adventure, and still got up early on a bitterly cold morning to drive my mom and me to the airport.

He’s a mensch.

The accumulation of our years together has made each one more precious. We know the next is not guaranteed.

We also find ourselves in an exceptionally busy time in our lives.

So, when we do find time together, we celebrate.

Happy anniversary Vince!

I’ll see you soon.

It’s been a wild, wonderful ride.
