Is it a work trip if it’s a labor of love?

I’m currently out of town for a project my daughter Katherine and I have been working on since 2023.

Is it a work trip, though, if it’s a labor of love?

Firstly, it’s a privilege to collaborate with a human you’ve raised. What an honor!

Secondly, we both love the product we’re getting ready to send out into the world.

Thirdly, I am also hanging out with our cool son in-law Ed and the sweetest dog in all the land, Benny.

Beyond all of that, I got to see Katherine perform her standup set in LA, which I’ve been wanting to do for a long time.

I also got to see a bunch of her friends perform in a cool venue with a nice full house of appreciative people.

All in all, it’s been a great weekend!

I’m grateful for the time I get to spend with my oldest daughter, and the excellent food we’ve been enjoying, and the sunset that sank over the ocean last night, and the LA vibe that celebrates creativity, and Leah, our capable engineer, and the technology that makes projects like ours possible, and the people holding down the fort back home.

I hope your weekend has been equally inspiring.

I always enjoy hanging out with my sweet pal Benny. We both enjoyed this cool Free Little Library built in honor of a couple of canines.
I loved seeing Katherine perform her standup set. We weren’t allowed to take photos inside the venue, but it was a really fun show.
And we got to hang out with some really cool people.
After the show, we ate street burritos as big as our heads.
Yesterday, we spent some time working on a multi-media project we’re excited to share with you…when it’s finally complete.
I love a day that ends in a sunset over the water.
