A slew of April 17 dignitAries

Yesterday, we celebrated a cool kid, a generous aunt, a witty friend and a beloved matriarch.

April 17 rocks.

It brought us Grandma Mary Jane 94 years ago, and though she’s no longer with us, her gentle, fun-loving spirit lives on.

Among the many gifts Grandma Mary Jane gave us is the second of her nine children, also born on April 17, the festival and family-loving Donna.

April 17 also gave us Marge Higgins, a 98-year old dynamo, whose zest for life and faith in God inspires us all.

And, April 17 brought us a wise-cracking, mechanically inclined young man who loves potatoes, cars, an ageless gecko, rap music and mint chocolate chip ice cream.

We’re grateful for all our April 17ers, and for the people who helped make their day special.
