Rainy days and Tuesdays

My Wordle gave me an obscene gesture yesterday morning and it felt like Tuesday was taking a stand.

I almost conceded.

Having woken up two hours earlier than I intended, I had plenty of time to consider my approach to the day.

I shot a stink-eye toward my closet and could not think of a single thing in it I wanted to wear.

My workout gear huddled up on the floor and seemed like it was trying to slink away. We both knew it was arm day, our least favorite of the week.

The writing project I’d intended to finish the night before glared at me from my laptop, on which I’d watched an old episode of the Waltons instead.

And, in cahoots with Tuesday, the rain whispered, “Go back to bed. Go back to bed. Go back to bed.”

So very tempting.

But, November is the season of gratitude, right?

And we can’t let a cantankerous Tuesday stand in our way.

So, my workout gear and I hauled ourselves downstairs and we lifted those insufferable weights.

And, even though I felt dowdy all day, I did yank some work-appropriate clothes out of my closet.

I stuck a little pop-up card from a collection my sister in-law had given me in my pocket, brought it to work and I enjoyed my day with my smart, kind coworkers.

Enroute to my errands, I got to see the angels, fresh on their stretch over the Avenue.

Then I went home and put on some comfy sweats and the T-shirt my mother in-law gave me many years ago.

I invited Tuesday back into my house, where we shared a little kitchen dance.

In 10 days my entire family will be gathered around a table we’ll have to extend.

I’m not going to let a little gloomy Tuesday get me down.

I like to do my Wordle in the morning. Sometimes, it sets the tone for the day.
I knew I’d need a little extra inspiration, so I stuck a pop-up card in my pocket and brought it to work. Charlie Chaplin came through for me. I’ll keep you posted on what the other cards have to say.
They aren’t lit yet, but it was good to see the Angels back on the Ave. They herald such a joyous season (even on a dreary Tuesday).
Later, I put on some comfy sweats and one of my favorite T-shirts and I invited Tuesday back in for a little kitchen dance. It wasn’t my favorite day, but it did bring me one day closer to Thanksgiving so…
