Yesterday I custard kissed my spunky granddaughter and thought about how perfect August in Wisconsin is for unexpected family gatherings like ours.
Into this season of abundance will fly all four of our adult children, their partners and spouses, and a beloved group of extended family members that grows bigger every day.
By the end of the week, our table will be extended as far as it will go and full of some of our favorite people.
They’re coming from New Jersey, Oregon, California, New York, Illinois and Wisconsin for a spontaneous reunion that only really came together last week
We will never take for granted the privilege of family and the extra-special gift of four generations under one roof.
Last night Great-grandma Peggy, Molly and I began the important work of teaching Margo to polka. She loved her first lesson and kept asking for more.
So, we’ll dance a little every day and then, this weekend, when we roll out the barrel, the gang really will be all here.
Hooray!
