I took some time to clean house yesterday to get things ready for a brand new decade.
First, I tossed out all the stale stuff, swept away hurt feelings, resentment, fears and any weird twinges of sourness I found clinging like a dust ball to a far corner of the room.
Then I polished up the joy and moved it right up front where I can see it every day.
Friendship scrambled up there too, right next to family and gratitude. It felt good to clear a spot for them and I admired the view for a bit.
Then I got back to work, clearing clutter and organizing things. I dusted off sweet memories and enjoyed every moment of that chore.
I unwrapped a couple of new dreams and set them proudly next to my stash of hope and ambition.
Then I took a deep, cleansing breath and smiled.
It’s a great honor to welcome in the first day of a brand new decade and I’m glad I spruced up the place for the occasion.
Happy New Year! I hope you have plenty of room in your 2020 for all the best things life has to offer including laughter and love.
