The bride wore a beautiful gold dress and wove the colors of her beloved team so gracefully into wedding party that it took a moment to sink in.
This, from the vintage pigskin leather colored tuxes with their subtle green vests to the football shaped wedding cake, was a Packer wedding, which made perfect sense because the bride, Katie Fisher-Petersen has always been the very best kind of Packer fan. She can both diagram a play and throw a perfect spiral; views Lambeau as the mothership calling her home; can discuss the merits of any rostered Packer player, current or retired; named her youngest son Grant Brayden Peterson, so his initials would be GBP.
None other than former Green Bay cornerback Charles Woodson provided cover for groom Matt Petersen when he popped the question, and then he autographed a jersey for them, writing “She said yes!”
After an elegant ceremony, Katie and Matt, along with their parents, welcomed guests to a fun, festive reception. Jock Jams provided the appropriate background music for the wedding party announcements, and one of the bridesmaids sent one of the groomsmen out on a deep route across the dance floor and then launched a perfect pass to hit him in stride.
Matron of honor Lyndsay Zuleger worked a Vince Lombardi quote into her toast, and wedding guests tossed a football through a small, green target, rather than clink glasses, to encourage the couple to kiss.
We loved the creativity, the dedication and, mostly, the joy this wedding celebrated and we can’t wait to see what the next years bring this family.
#GPG! Go Petersens Go!

I took a quick video of the bride’s parents being announced at the reception. It’s a pretty cute moment.
