Win our way

It’s 4:30 in the morning and I’m showered up and ready to roll.

I’m currently running on Adrenalin, a road trip mug of very strong tea, and the chocolate post-game Dilly bar my husband left for me in the freezer last night.

These are heady times for Wisconsin sports fans and I don’t want to miss a thing.

I’m so grateful to have been in the stadium last night for the happy, historic juxtaposition of seasons that found our Brewers Lambeau Leaping into the stands.

And I’m giddy that I get to attend the Brewers Championship Celebration on the Summerfest grounds later this morning.

What. A. Week!

Like a bunch of my fellow sleep-deprived sports fans, I was at the parade in 1982. I got to attend the Packer Super Bowls in 1997, 1998 and 2011.

We know how lucky we are to experience these moments, and we understand how fleeting they can be.

They’re just games, certainly. But they’re also the kind of unifiers we desperately need in this old world.

My friend texted me a picture last night of her mother, praying the rosary and watching the Packer game from her hospice bed.

These are womb to tomb allegiances that unite generations. (Also, we needed that noble woman’s intercession!)

It’s a good day to be a Wisconsin sports fan!

Go Pack Go! Let’s Go Brewers!

Now, I have to hit the road.

Woo hoo!

I had a great time at the game with my friend and co-worker Daisy. I’m so grateful to my job and all my co-workers for giving me the day off and helping me negotiate logistics for today.
It was an electric night at Lambeau!
What a glorious time to be a Wisconsin Spirts Fan! Let’s go!
