Sometimes, hope rolls into your life on a sweet cloud of baby’s breath.
That’s what happened to us this weekend as we spent time with our two little New Jersey bagels — our granddaughters Margo, who turns three tomorrow, and Ronni, who is just 10 days old.
Today, we get to celebrate Groundhog Day with our own harbingers of spring. We’re headed to the Turtleback Zoo today to see what Lady Edwina has to say.
As we enjoy our visit with our granddaughters, here’s our wish for all the pugnacious prognosticators out there enjoying (or not enjoying) their annual moment in the sun:
We hope none of them see their shadow and that they squint in the sunshine of a brand day.
We hope the ice melts and that seeds of harmony sprout in fertile soil.
We hope for a long, sweet season of peace.
We’re heading home tomorrow with full and grateful hearts.
Happy Groundhog Day and, no matter how long winter lasts, we hope the warmth of human kindness touches you all.
