A magic portal in the space/time continuum — a guest post by Donna

This weekend I had the great pleasure of spending time with the Molly B and Me family.  As a member of the large Biskupic family, I am associated with many subgroups.   I am proud to be a member of the peas and carrot club.  I am allowed to read the coveted green and red pepper club letters,  but I am not a member.   I am one of the original and profitable subgroup JodoCash.

This weekend I enjoyed seeing the return on the investment of my brother Vince and sister in-law Laura.  Their four children have grown to be successful adults.  The Molly B and Me blog has shared many a story of their adventures and successes. We are proud of them and all the other family members.

I grew up as the second oldest of nine children. My younger brother (and Molly’s dad) Vince and the younger half were off doing their own things.  Occasionally I would be home from college to see a baseball game.  I was in my own apartment and doing my own thing when Vince became the star football player. I saw only a few games.

Now the nine are all grown and enjoying being friends as well as family.  We make an effort to spend time together.  This weekend I enjoyed seeing the Mini Vinnie family doing the same. The entire Appleton family was together under the roof for the first time since the Biskupic and Campbell family reunion. The semi “only child” Molly gave up her room to the visiting aunt.  Her three sibling fought over pillows and remaining beds. In the morning we shared an apple cake Molly made using apples  from the honey crisp adventure.  The recipe was improvised and delicious.   We enjoyed the improvisation of Katherine, who rapped to win a bet with her dad.  Charlie shared stories from New York.  I was excited  for soon-to-be college graduate Vinnie. Starting a new chapter can be exciting and scary .

The weekend included a trip to the farmers market and the farm.  I found the magic portal in the space time continuum.  I visited first hand the sites and tastes of the enjoyable Molly B and Me stories.

Thank you Vince and Laura for a great weekend.  As you enjoy time with all your children sit back and be proudly say “I did that”.  You have done a great job as parents.  I enjoyed the vicarious experience.  Thanks to all my sibling for letting their aunt share the advantages of parenting.  No need to share college or other bills.
